Henry v

Summary:

At this point young Prince Harry has become the king because of the passing of his father. France sends Henry a threatening message so he decides to invade France. In this war the English were way out numbered but Henry got his troops together and they defeated the French and they surrendered at last. Later on Henry marries Catherine, the daughter of the French king. Their son will be the french king and unite the two kingdoms.

Character analysis:

Henry V: A young king who has changed his ways from a rebellious adolescent to a strong determined man. He is selfless and puts the needs of his country before his own. He is determined to conquer France and with his skills he does just that.

Conflicts:


The conflicts in this story are man v man and man v self. The conflict of man v man is promoted because this is a story that revolves around a war and conquering another country. The conflict of man v self is KIng Henry against himself, he has to put his past in the past and become a different man so he can accomplish the things for his country that need to be done.

Themes:


Power; Henry V is knew to being king and he has all of the power of England and is expected to help the country.

War; King Henry V plan is to conquer France which turns into warfare between the two countries.

Family; There is a lot of family drama with King Henry V, his father has just passed and after he conquers France he marries the king’s daughter and his son will become the king of France.

Symbols:

The sun; the kings and queens compare themselves to the sun to show their stunning powers.

The tennis balls; when the Dauphin of France wants KIng Henry to know that he has no respect for him he sends him a chest full of tennis balls when he sent for French dukedoms.
