1. Ten years after the passing of Troy and the Greek hero
Odysseus, has still not

returned to his kingdom of Ithaca. Nobody knows but he is being
held on the island of

Kalypso. Odysseus and his men came to the land of Cyclopses. and
his men came

into a cave of on of the monsters. Odysseus got the Cyclopses
drunk and stabbed

him in the eye with a log. There are many events such as this
that happen on the

island and his love affair with Circe, the witch-goddess. He
fights a number of sea

monster Scylla, Hades to talk to the prophet Tiresias, and
Odysseus outpour of

Sirens. Odysseus reveals himself to the entire palace with his
wife Penelope and they

come under attack from the family members of the dead suitors.
Laertes kills

Antinous father and puts a hold on the attack. Zeus decides to
rescue Odysseus from

Calypso’s island. Odysseus describes the months of travel that
let him to the island of

Calypso. Odysseus arrives to the palace as a begger and is
treated horribly from the

start. Only Odysseus was ever able to do so in the past while
his suitors all fall to him.

Odysseus reveals his identity and reunites with his family
including his father Laertes.

After the families of the suitors were handled and dealt with
everything seemed to go

back to normal and everyone was nice and good to each other.
Zeus and Athena

return to peace and everything seems to be good.

2. Odysseus displays the traits of a hero and the love of glory.
He gains his fame

through his intellect skills using both to help destroy the
Greek army and Troy.

Penelope is Odysseus wife and proves herself to be as brilliant
as her husband.

Telemachus is the Prince upon his return to Ithaca. He aides
Odysseus in the

infamous slaughter. The goddess of wisdom which is Athena adores
Odysseus. She

establishes peace on the island whe the people’s parents react
in the wrong, angry

way. Also, Poseidon is the of course god of the sea, but he is
the one who punishes

Odysseus.

3. Ten years after the death of Troy, the famous Greek hero
Odysseus has still not

returned to his home Ithaka. People are thinking that he is dead
so they take over his

palace and his wife Penelope is beginning to realize that he may
be dead. Poseidon

is the person in charge of keeping Odyssey and he is the one
responsible. Odyssey

relates the Trojan War all his men suffered more loses at the
hands of Kikones and

were treated very poorly. Odyssey disguises as a beggar and
investigates his own

palace and notices how poorly he his treated. Penelope proposes
a contest where

she will, at last marry the suitor who can sting Odysseus great
bow and shoot an

arrow through a dozen axeheads. Now only Odysseus can pull such
a task off and he

does the task and afterwards reveals his identity. Outside the
town, he visits his

family and his sick father. Zeus orders peace between the two
sides and everything

seems to be good again.

4. The Odyssey is a man v. man conflict as well as man v.
society because he has to

deal with himself and learn from his past and move forward.
Also, because there is

peace toward the end that means its man v. society because of
the peace that is

involved with everyone.

5. Three major themes in “The Odyssey” is well one love. Love
brigs him back to Ithka

and brings Odyssey to his lovely wife and his people. Also,
loyalty because without

loyalty, not only from Odyssey but from his people to welcome
him back was

something great. He also used loyalty because Odyssey remained
loyal to them and

never left or betrayed them. Last, patriotism because again
Odyssey remained there

for his people and they were there for him as well.
