pride and PREJUDICE
A. In the beginning of the story, an upper class family moves into a lower class neighborhood and meet the bennets, a family with 5 daughters whose mother is trying to get them married to someone to try to give their daughters a better life than they already have. One of the daughters, Jane, begins to like a man named “Mr.bingly” and Jane’s mother decides that they will then get married and starts planning on how to get them together. But one man, Mr. Darcy, doesn’t think that Jane would return her feelings to Mr.bingly, so he convinces him to move back to where he came from and call off the wedding. After a while, Mr. Darcy realizes that what he did was not right and convinces Mr.bingly to move back so he and Jane can get married again. Then Mr. Darcy falls in love with one of the sisters, Elizabeth Bennet and wishes to marry her. Then Mr. Darcy’s aunt, lady Catherine, tells Elizabeth that Mr. Darcy is already in an arranged marriage and that he doesn’t need to be in another one, but they proceed with the marriage anyways
A. Important characters
a. Jane Bennet and Mr. Bingly- In the beginning of the story, these two are the first of people to get an arranged marriage. Its kind of funny really. The two meet, and realize they have feelings for each other, and then Mrs. Bennet tries to get them together and succeeds, and they are then arranged to be wed. But Mr. Darcy doesn’t believe that Jane shares the same feelings that Bingly has for her, so he tells Bingly to go back to where he came from, realized that was a bad things to do and tells him to come back. It takes up about half of the book in detail and drama
b. Elizabeth Bennet- the second daughter of the Bennet family, who was the most intelligent and quick witted of all the sisters, is the protagonist of the story. She is pretty much the girl everyone wants to be. Smart, lovely, and absolutely brilliant. She is honest, pure hearted, and always manages to do the right thing. She is, in almost every sense of the word (from the story) perfect… except for her sharp tongue, which can usually get her into trouble. She has a tendency to quickly judge others unintentionally.
c. Mr. Darcy- the son of a wealthy, well-established family and the master of the great estate of Pemberley, Darcy is Elizabeth’s significant other in this story. Throughout the story, Darcy and Elizabeth don’t really get along well but eventually you see they are perfect for each other. They are pretty much a perfect match, seeing that he too is intelligent, good looking, and forthright but also has the same tendency to judge others too quickly

D. The major symbol of this story is Pemberley, which is part of the setting and the place that Darcy Owns
